New Age Pension Ages - If You Were Born After 1 July 1952 You Are Affected!

Legislation to increase the Age Pension Age has now been introduced into Parliament.
If passed, the new Age Pension Ages will be:
Males
- 65 years & 6 months if born in the period 1 July 1952 to 31 December 1953
- 66 years if born in the period 1 January 1954 to 30 June 1955
- 66 years & 6 months if born in the period 1 July 1955 to 31 December 1956
- 67 years if born on or after 1 January 1957
Females
- 65 years if born in the period 1 January 1949 to 30 June 1952
- 65 years & 6 months if born in the period 1 July 1952 to 31 December 1953
- 66 years if born in the period 1 January 1954 to 30 June 1955
- 66 years & 6 months if born in the period 1 July 1955 to 31 December 1956
- 67 years if born on or after 1 January 1957
If you are a male and were born before 1 July 1952, the Age Pension Age will remain at 65 years.
If you are a female and were born before 1 July 1935, the Age Pension Age will remain at 60 years. If born between 1 July 1935 and 31 December 1948 then, in accordance with previously implemented changes in the Age Pension Age for females, Age Pension Age will progressively increase from 60 to 65 years.
