Super Stats – June 2026

Total Superannuation Assets have a value of 237% of Australia’s GDP while Total SMSF Assets have a value of 55% of GDP.

APRA estimates the dollar value of Total Superannuation Assets as at 30 June 2026 to be $4,767 billion with the dollar value of Total SMSF Assets (also at 30 June 2026) to be $1,107 billion.  The nominal value of Australia’s GDP is estimated to be $2.012 billion.

In the 12 months to 30 June 2026, the estimated increase to total super assets and SMSF assets is to be 9.5% and 3.6%, respectively. 

The stats were provided by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority issued - 31 August 2026 and estimates of Australia’s nominal Gross Domestic Product issued by the International Monetary Fund for early 2026.
